Eddie and Sally
Eddie and Sally isn't just a store, They're real people. In fact, they're the married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Powell, who are both artists from Birmingham, Ala.
Although Eddie Powell concedes they're living the dream, he emphasizes it isn't a life of leisure.
"It's easy to fall into what I call a Jimmy Buffett Lifestyle here," he said, "But we're working very hard to run a retail shop and, at the same time, provide most of its inventory."
Their studio is in the rear of the shop while the front displays paintings such as Sally's "Hat Ladies" collection and Eddie's work featuring horses. They also offer familiar local scenes including Western Lake and depictions of trees, foliage and beach creatures native to this area.
The shop sells jewelry, painted pottery, ceramics, and metal art created by other artisans.
